Academic Law Librarian
I have 15 years of experience in academic law librarianship, including 10 years of service as an FCIL librarian at the Harvard Law School Library (2012-2022). I earned my B.A. from Pacific Lutheran University (English and German, 1994), my J.D. from Pepperdine Law School (2007), my M.L.I.S. from San Jose State University (2010), and my LL.M. in German law from the University of Würzburg (2018, magna cum laude). My LL.M. thesis was on the protection of fundamental rights under the German Basic Law when public functions are performed by private actors. Since completing my LL.M., I have continued to serve on the law faculty in Würzburg as a visiting lecturer, returning each year to teach courses in substantive U.S. law and legal English. My scholarly interests include social justice, correctional law, critical legal studies, the intersection of law and language, and the navigation of the acculturation process by international students.
