About Jennifer Aengst

Jennifer Aengst is Adjunct Professor of Anthropology at Portland State University and Senior Research Associate at Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU). Her scholarship focuses on the politics of reproduction, gender, and technologies in South Asia. Her current research examines the production of scientific knowledge, biomedicalization, and the role that culture plays in the development and dissemination of new technologies. She earned her doctoral degree in Anthropology at the University of California Davis and has published in Medical Anthropology, Ethnos, Ladakh Studies, and the Encyclopedia of Human Sexuality.
