About Jennifer Swenson

Professor Swenson is and associate professor in Data Science and the Director of the Center for Geospatial Analysis at William & Mary. Her research tracks changes in Earth's living surface at the landscape to region scale via remoting sensing and geospatial analysis. Focusing on geographical patterns of biodiversity and human drivers of change, Professor Swenson recognizes the alarming number of serious environmental problems we face and uses remote sensing to illuminate the adverse impacts of humans on the natural world. Her research has been funded by NASA, NSF, USDA, and other institutions. Professor Swenson has worked with NGOs and managed large international conservation projects in the past.
