About Dr. Jennifer McGee

Dr. Jennifer McGee completed her Ed.D. in educational leadership with a specialization in research and evaluation. She is a professor in Appalachian State University’s Department of Leadership and Educational Studies. McGee also is a Faculty Fellow with Appalachian’s Center for Analytics Research & Education (CARE), which leverages faculty skills and expertise in big data and analytics to promote positive behavioral change.

Prior to joining Appalachian, McGee was a high school agriculture teacher. She has served as an external evaluator on several large educational grants. She teaches courses on assessment for undergraduate teacher education majors and research methods courses for graduate students. Her research interests include validity and measurement, program evaluation, self-efficacy, assessment and S.T.E.M. education. She has published in the Journal of Psychoeducational Assessment, Action in Teacher Education, and the International Journal of Educational Research, among others.
