Abstract
Advanced practitioners in the area of 24-7 Posture Care Management and Seating and Wheeled Mobility often say “how you lay is how you sit” and observe significant parallels between long-term resting postures and seating challenges. In this session, we will review the existing body of evidence with regard to 24-7 Posture Care Management. What evidence suggests protective positioning prevents, stabilizes, or improves body shape distortions commonly seen in persons experiencing mobility limitations? What questions still need to be answered? What challenges do we face as clinicians and researchers? Audience participation in generating questions for further research is encouraged.
