About Jennifer L. Erdely, Ph.D.

Jennifer L. Erdely (Ph.D., Louisiana State University) is a communication scholar whose research intersects culture, identity, place, and performance. Her current research interests focus on the communication of chronic pain, health, and health disparities, and she takes an interdisciplinary approach to understanding the body, narratives, relationships, and culture. Her research methods include qualitative methods such as textual analysis, narrative inquiry, adaptation, archival records research, digital humanities, arts-based research, ethnography, and performance (as both a method and a site of inquiry.) She has presented and performed her scholarship at national and international conferences and performance festivals. She has been recognized for her work in the fields of performance studies and narrative ethnography through winning awards at regional, national, and international levels.
