Summary & Purpose

This data contains infrasound recordings from Villarrica's summit as part of a Boise State University field campaign. Infrasound was recorded from 20 stations over a week long period (Jan. 13 - Jan. 18, 2020). The data set supports and is used within the Bulletin of Volcanology publication "Factors That Control Near-source Infrasound at Open-Vent Volcanoes: A case study at Villarrica Volcano, Chile."

Data Attributes
Low frequency acoustic waves (infrasounds) were recorded atop of the summit of Villarrica Volcano for 1 week with a distribution of 20 sensors. These sensor are Jacob Anderson's Gem Loggers, which recorded with a sensitivity of 2.077962e-05 V/Pa, a 26 second corner period, and a sample rate of 100 Hz. Each sensor logs GPS data every second in the form of a text string including the date, time, and location.
