Broken Toys: The NCAA Community College Male Athlete(2013)
AbstractThe major organizations formed for the sole purpose of establishing rules, boundaries and regulations governing college sports: the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), which govern four-year schools; the National Junior College Athletics Association (NJCAA); and, in California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA formerly COA), Northwestern Athletic Association (NWAA) and a few other state specific community college entities are governing bodies for sports in two-year colleges. Six "JUCO" student athletes offer their insight about restoration and their transition to universities and professional sports. Solutions are shared to help community college student-athletes as they seek out their dreams of success in college and after.
