Abstract
The article discusses radicalism and anarchism in San Francisco, California during World War I, focusing on the influence of trade unions and labor extremism on the radical, anarchist culture in the city. Other topics include the history of anarchism in the U.S. since the end of the 19th century, the efforts of anarchists Emma Goldman and Alexander Berkman to spread anarchism in San Francisco, and objections to the Preparedness Movement in San Francisco in 1916.
