Abstract

The State of California enacted a new law that will affect the role of SLPs in identifying and treating reading disorders in school-aged children and adolescents. AB1369 requires that “phonological processing” be added to the list of basic psychological processes used to determine eligibility under the category of “Specific Learning Disability”. This panel of SLPs, educators and leadership team members of Decoding Dyslexia California will address identification, intervention, collaboration and other issues associated with dyslexia.
