About Jean HERVEG

Jean HERVEG received his Master in Law from the University of Louvain (UCL, Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium) in 1993. He is a member of the Bar of Brussels (1993-1999 / 2000- present). From 1999 to 2000 he was with the ING GROUP as an Internal Auditor working on Legal and Tax Risks. Since 2000, he has been with the Research Center on IT & Law (CRID, Faculty of Law, FUNDP, Namur, Belgium). He has been a lecturer (Maître de Conférences) since September 2005, teaching a course on “Medical Law and ICT”. He is also teaching a course on “Data Protection” in the post-graduate program “INFOSAFE” jointly organized by the FUNDP and ICHEC (Brussels). His research activity deals with the processing of medical data in healthcare (Privacy and Data Protection) and with ehealth products and services. He is the author of numerous communications on ehealth and on the processing of personal data, as well as of several journal papers and book chapters in these domains.
