Comparative Identification of Defense-Oriented Economies.

Abstract
The report takes an inductive approach to identifying defense-related regions. It examines the structural economic characteristics of three template regions (Colorado Springs, Hartford, and New London) that represent differing types of defense activity and then searches other counties and metropolitan regions for similarities. The findings strengthen the evidence of economic relationships with the defense sector for some regions identified in the previous two reports, and reveal several additional, mainly non-urban, counties that also may be linked economically to military activities.
