About Jay Walls, Ph.D.

Composer Jay Walls teaches students in a variety of classes at Harding, including Introduction to Music Composition, Counterpoint, Composition Lessons, Hymnology, etc. His creative output spans a gamut of styles and genres from avant-garde instrumental and vocal solos to neo-romantic works for choir and orchestra. He accompanies his composition students yearly on trips to visit composers and other professionals working in the commercial music industry. Walls has been strongly influenced by his many years of residency in Florence, Italy, and he loves to share his passion for international travel and cultural discovery with his students.
