About Jason Tercha

Jason Tercha is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of History at Binghamton University. Originally from eastern Pennsylvania, he holds a bachelor’s degree in History (with a minor in Civil War Era Studies) from Gettysburg College, a master’s degree in American Studies from The George Washington University, and a master’s degree in History from Binghamton University. Jason explores the political economy and environmental history of the nineteenth century United States. He is currently working on his dissertation titled, “Networking American Landscapes: Railroads and their Social Effects on Antebellum American Landscapes and Communities.”

Jason is well-versed in the digital humanities. He often uses methods of digital analysis to explore his historical data. View the Digital Humanities Gallery for posts to various digital projects that Jason has completed or is the process of working on.
