Before joining the faculty at Liberty University, I served as the senior academic officer at the Institute for Humane Studies at George Mason University, the Ashbrook Center at Ashland University, and the Bill of Rights Institute. I also served on the faculty of Pepperdine University’s Washington DC Program. I am on the Advisory Board of the Pepperdine Beacon.
I have published in American Political Thought, Review of Politics, Journal of Religion and Society, The University Bookman, Law and Liberty, American Greatness, The Washington Times, and The Columbus Dispatch, in addition to chapters in Teaching America: The Case for Civic Education and Encyclopedia of the Supreme Court. I have presented research at multiple academic conferences and gatherings, included those sponsored by the American Political Science Association, Midwest Political Science Association, Liberty Fund, Philadelphia Society, National Association of Scholars, and Academy of Philosophy and Letters. I have also served as a grant reviewer for the National Endowment of the Humanities and as a peer reviewer for the journal American Political Thought.
