About Janice Neri

Dr. Janice Neri joined the Art Department of Boise State University in 2004. She earned a Ph.D. in Visual Studies and an M.A. in History, concentrating on Art History, both from the University of California, Irvine, and a B.A. in History from Pomona College. Dr. Neri's primary teaching focus is in Renaissance and Baroque art history and she is was expert on entomological illustration. Her book, The Insect and the Image: Visualizing Nature in Early Modern Europe, 1500-1700, was published in 2011 by the University of Minnesota Press. Dr. Neri was also a member of the College Art Association and the Society for the History of Natural History.
