Abstract
A newly published resource about the selection and training of health care simulation operations (SimOps) staff is a welcome tool for the center director's toolbox. The now available Healthcare Simulation: A Guide for Operations Specialists (2016) edited by Laura Gantt and H. Michael Young contains 14 chapters about SimOps. The guide is written by an impressive list of interprofessional contributors with up-to-date and comprehensive references. Topics covered include matters such as job descriptions, resources, and professional development as well as definitions of the operations specialist role in innovation and research.
