Alternative Clinical Experience Through Academic Service-Learning Develops Into a Partnership for Mental Health Rotation
Teaching and Learning in Nursing
(2020)
Abstract
In an effort to secure alternate clinical experiences, decrease stigma and encourage interest in the field of mental health nursing, an academic service-learning project was launched. This endeavor consisted of an alliance between an associate degree nursing program and a community clubhouse. This affiliation evolved into a growing partnership yielding multiple benefits for both nursing students and the community partner.
