About Janelle K. Bryan

Janelle Bryan is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Social Work in the College of Arts and Sciences at Sacred Heart University. She has over ten years experience in community health center administration, including public relations, grants and program development.  Her area of expertise includes organizational and community practice, social determinants of health,and political social work. Other research interests are gender-based violence, healthcare access and anti-oppression practice. Her dissertation work addressed healthcare professionals' attitudes, knowledge and behaviors regarding intimate partner violence in Barbados. Other published works have addressed the prenatal care experiences of women and school-wide bullying prevention.
