Abstract
Building from Review methods, Qualitative methods and Quantitative methods, this lecture brings the best bits together to explore mixed methods research designs and showcase a number of ‘real world’ applications through recent ACER projects. Following an overview of mixed methods approaches, presenters will share a range of applied examples, including large-scale projects involving program evaluation, case studies, and resource development. Each presenter will discuss advantages, challenges, and complexities of mixed methods designs in practice. Participants will: • strengthen their knowledge of alternative mixed methods designs. • deepen their understanding of the nuances of mixed methods research in practice. • hear about recent Australian education research.
