About Jamie Samuels Cromley

Biography, Disciplines and Teaching Interests
Mrs. Cromley is a Lecturer in the Department of Health Policy and Community Health, Jiann-Ping Hsu College of Public Health. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Masters of Public Health degree from the University of Georgia. Mrs. Cromley has been teaching for approximately five years in the Jiann-Ping Hsu College of Public Health.  Having taught over 10 different undergraduate courses, she is known for her diverse teaching background. Course topics include community health, gerontology, program planning, substance use and abuse, promotional strategies and more. Her expertise is in instruction and she has a passion for teaching. Mrs. Cromley is currently the Undergraduate Internship Coordinator for JPHCOPH. She is the faculty supervisor for all students who complete an internship to fulfill their BSPH degree requirements. Prior to teaching, Mrs. Cromley worked as the Program Coordinator for the Center for Addiction Recovery at Georgia Southern University. She was responsible for academic advising, community education, program outreach, and curriculum development for students in long term recovery from drugs and alcohol. She has a research background in addiction recovery, nutrition and gerontology. Professional coursework in the DrPh program has provided her with the educational background and preparation to teach in the JPHCOPH. Her enthusiasm and energy for the field is well respected by students as she prepares them for a successful career in the field of public health. Mrs. Cromley serves on a number of committees and boards at Georgia Southern as well as in the community.
