James Bucky Carter is an assistant professor of English Education in the English Department of the University of Texas at El Paso. He studies the intersections of literacy and comics art and is interested in Critical, New, and Multimodal literacies and how they relate to popular culture. He has published several books, articles and chapters on graphic novels and education.
