About Jaimee Betts Hegge

Jaimee Betts Hegge, OTD, OTR/L, is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Occupational Therapy in the College of Health Professions at Sacred Heart University. Professor Hegge is a National Board Certified Occupational Therapist, a Licensed Occupational Therapist, State of Connecticut, a Certified Kinesiotape Practitioner, a Certified Fieldwork Educator, and is certified in Usui Reiki Level 1 & 2. Dr. Hegge's professional interests include pelvic floor therapy for pregnant and postnatal women, home care in ccupational therapy, physical disabilities in adults and geriatric clients, and urinary incontinence management. In 2023, Dr. Hegge opened her private practice treating pelvic floor dysfunction of pregnant and postnatal women in their home. Additionally, Dr. Hegge and Dr. Amanda Wheeler started the SHU & You Women's Health Center at SHU's Center for Healthcare Education building in June 2023. They treat underserved women in the greater Bridgeport/Fairfield county area with pelvic floor dysfunction and breast cancer.

Teaching responsiblities: Semester Coordinator for the Adult and Geriatric Physical Rehabilitation Semester (2 sections of Seminar, 4 sections of Lab, and 8 sections of Problem-based learning teams), Functional Applied Anatomy and Neuroanatomy, Portfolio, Capstone Advising, and Level 1 Fieldwork Supervision.
