Considering the Foreground and Background of Effective Literacy Coaching

Abstract
In this chapter, I present a new frame for effective coaching that highlights the contextual nature of coaching success, based on existing research about coaching roles, responsibilities, and contexts. Equipped with this new frame, coaches and school leaders might engage in productive conversations about how best to establish and sustain effective coaching initiatives in their schools.
