About Jacqueline G. Lee

Joining Boise State University in 2017, Dr. Jacqueline G. Lee is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Criminal Justice. She received both her Ph.D. and M.A. in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland at College Park, and a J.D. with highest honors from the University of Oklahoma.  Dr. Lee’s research focus includes courts and sentencing and criminal justice policy, and she has a firm belief that criminal justice research is greatly enhanced by working with and forming partnerships with court actors and practitioners.  Her published work focuses on racial issues, including the relationship between race and capital punishment and the impact of sentencing guidelines on racial disparity.  Dr. Lee plans to continue exploring new jurisdictions’ sentencing data, become more involved in policy evaluations, and further explore the experiences of women regarding crime/violence. She is a member of the American Society of Criminology and the American Sociological Association.
