Abstract
The National Student Survey is used to gather feedback from final year university students about
their satisfaction with their course. It is a UK-wide initiative in that all higher education institutions
(HEIs) in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales participate annually (HEFCE 2003/51,
2003). The survey has been and continues to be commissioned by the Higher Education Funding
Council for England (HEFCE) on behalf of the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales
(HEFCW) and the Department for Employment and Learning, Northern Ireland (DELNI).
