On Passive in MalagasyProceedings of Austronesian Formal Linguistics Association (1999)
AbstractThis paper examines two different passive formations in Malagasy. Although one passive appears to promote certain types of adjuncts, it is shown that these adjuncts can appear in an NP argument position. Passive in Malagasy is thus argued to uniquely promote NP arguments to subject position.
