Abstract
This essay, written in response to a call for essays by the editors of Legal Communication and Rhetoric: J ALWD, represents a snapshot of a time in which Chat GPT and other forms of artificial intelligence were first being introduced. Already, by February 2023, Chat GPT had passed law school exams and the bar exam, and this essay considers what this might mean for both the practice of law and for legal education.
