This essay, written in response to a call for essays from the editors of the Journal of Legal Writing, considers the place of legal writing in the legal academy. It proposes that the legal writing community should declare victory in the status wars that have divided the legal academic community and take four steps to solidify the position of legal writing in the future of American law schools.
