About Hyun Kang

Dr. Kang, an assistant professor at James Madison University's Department of Social Work, champions the well-being of older adults. He earned his Ph.D. in Social Work from the University of Kansas, where he also served as a lead data analyst, focusing on aging issues. During a postdoctoral fellowship at George Mason University, he secured funding for Alzheimer's research.
Dr. Kang’s expertise lies in gerontology, the study of all aspects of aging. He's passionate about confronting ageism and creating a society that embraces the diversity and value of older people. Through research and advocacy, he strives to bridge the gap in understanding and improve the quality of life for older adults.
