About Howard Cheung

Howard Cheung is a post-doctoral research associate at Purdue University with research interest in HVAC and building systems. He completed his PhD in Mechanical Engineering in August 2014 at Purdue University with a thesis topic Inverse Modeling of Vapor Compression Equipment to Enable Simulation of Fault Impacts. He has done research in empirical testing and modeling of variable-speed ductless heat pump systems, mechanistic modeling of multi-split heat pump systems, fault modeling in vapor compression system by inverse modeling and developing virtual sensors in packaged air conditioining systems. He is currently working on fault models for building simulation programs and evaluation of building audit tools.
