About Hope Tobey, DO, FAAP, FACOP, C-NMM/OMM

Dr. Tobey started her path to becoming board certified in neuromusculoskeletal medicine and osteopathic manipulative medicine at Messiah College. She received her Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine before completing her traditional rotating osteopathic internship at the Heart of Lancaster Regional Medical Center and pediatric internship and residency at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital. She then became a ONMM Resident “Plus One” at the Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg and joined the team at VCOM Sports & Osteopathic Medicine.
With a passion for working with children, Dr. Hope Tobey specializes in pediatric osteopathic manual medicine for infant breastfeeding difficulty, colic, plagiocephaly and infant reflux. She enjoys the challenge of finding creative ways to keep babies and children calm while in her office and she loves watching them grow knowing that she has made a positive impact on their lifelong health.
Dr. Tobey has been recognized on many award lists for her excellence in patient care, including Our Health Magazine Bedside Manner Award Osteopathic Medicine since 2016, Our Health Magazine Bedside Manner Award Pediatrics list from 2011 through 2016 and Best in the NRV Best Pediatrician list from 2012 through 2016. She was also named the VCOM Preceptor of the Year for the Lewis Gail / Montgomery region in 2019.
In the office, you will find Dr. Tobey doing what she loves best: interacting with kids, asking silly questions, listening to the sweet baby giggles and even enjoying the defiant “no” from a toddler. She finds true joy in watching the faces of mothers after she helps improve the breastfeeding relationship, and knows that she has made a real difference in someone’s life.
