About Hillary Hettinger Steiner

Hillary Steiner is the Associate Director for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) at the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) and Professor of Educational Psychology in the Department of Psychological Science. At KSU she has taught first-year seminars, introductory and educational psychology, and graduate courses in student development in face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats. Her current research and professional interests include metacognition and self-regulated learning, SoTL support and advocacy, and educational development. She has been active in professional service at the national and local level, serving as a Vice President (US Region) of ISSOTL, University System of Georgia SoTL Fellows Mentor, Conference Chair of the Research on Teaching and Learning Summit, Program Chair for ISSOTL19, and the founder and past chair of the SoTL Special Interest Group of the POD Network in Higher Education. She received the USG Board of Regents’ SoTL Award in 2017.
