About Heidi Wendt

Heidi Wendt received an A.B. in Religious Studies from Brown University and an M.T.S. in New Testament and Christian Origins from Harvard Divinity School. She then returned to Brown where she completed a Ph. D. in Religious Studies and an A.M. in Classics. Her research focuses on religion in the Roman Empire, particularly the activities of freelance religious experts and their significance for the emergence of Christians in the first and second centuries. She has conducted research and archaeological fieldwork throughout Italy, Greece, and Turkey and in 2011 was awarded the Emeline Hill Richardson Pre-Doctoral Rome Prize in Ancient Studies from the American Academy in Rome.
