Integrating the communicative modes: Teaching writing through genre

Abstract
This session explores best practices and challenges in teaching written presentational communication in lower-level courses. Presenters focus on the process of moving from interpreting model texts to pre-writing activities and implementing genre-based writing. Sample materials and resources for carrying out this approach are provided.
