About E. Hatheway Simpson

E. Hatheway (Hathy) Simpson, MPH, is the Program Manager of the New England AIDS Education and Training Center (NEAETC), Center for Health Policy and Research, Commonwealth Medicine, University of Massachusetts Medical School. The goal of the program is to provide education, skills building, and clinical mentoring to health care professionals who care for individuals living with HIV/AIDS, as well as to promote prevention strategies. Hathy supports the day-to-day operations of the NEAETC Regional Office including project support and coordination of program activities. Prior to joining NEAETC, Hathy was the Public Health Coordinator for the Lamar Soutter Library, University of Massachusetts Medical School.  She managed the Partners in Information Access for the Public Health Workforce (Public Health Partners) Project, a national collaborative project supported by the National Information Center on Health Services Research and Health Care Technology, National Library of Medicine, NIH, to help the public health workforce find and use information effectively to improve and protect the public’s health. Hathy provided outreach and education services to public health professionals, students, and health information specialists on finding and using evidence-based information resources. She developed the Evidence-Based Practice for Public Health web portal and managed a research study that assessed the information needs of public health professionals. Hathy holds a Master of Public Health from the University of Connecticut Health Center and a B.A. in Biology from Colby College.
