Abstract
Thin spray-on liners (TSL) have been used extensively as a rock support system. There are different testing set-ups and test results on TSL’s adhesion, tensile and shear strengths. Lately, researchers have been studying TSL’s support mechanism analytically and numerically. In these studies, TSL’s are assumed to be elastic, and different Young’s Modulus and Poisson’s Ratios are assumed. In this study, for the first time in the literature, elastic material properties of TSL products called Tekflex and Castonite which was prepared in the laboratory were determined. It was found that Tekflex has a Young’s Modulus of 13MPa and Poisson’s Ratio of 0.25 while Castonite has a Young’s Modulus of 55 MPa and Poisson’s Ratio of 0.2.
