Abstract
On the 31 July, 2010, a group of approximately 50 scientists from around the world attended a one-day symposium, held at the Park Central Hotel in New York City, entitled Chondrules: Their Role in Early Solar System history (Fig. 1). The purpose of this highly successful meeting was: (1) To define the critical questions within the field of chondrule research that have been explored for the last several decades with emphasis on understanding what we have learned; (2) Provide a framework for future research into chondrule origins, and (3) To celebrate over 30 years of contributions to the field by Professor Roger H. Hewins, a pioneer and leader in the field of chondrule research.
