Abstract

This paper presents challenges associated with the design of compact high gain broadband monopole antennas. In this article, we shall present various techniques that can be adopted to improve the gain and bandwidth performance of the monopole antenna. We have surveyed various techniques used to design miniaturized high gain broadband monopole antennas and analyzed each based on some figure of merit with the aim of identifying areas of improvement for each technique.
