About Hainan Sheng

Dr. Hainan Sheng is an Assistant Professor of Finance at University of Missouri–St. Louis (UMSL), who is also a CFA Charterholder. She received her Ph.D. degree from Texas Tech University. Before getting into academia, Hainan worked in Seattle, Beijing, and Singapore for a total of three years. Her current research interests include Derivatives, Real Estate, and Empirical Asset Pricing. Hainan has published papers in journals such as Real Estate Economics, Journal of Business Finance & Accounting, Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics, and Journal of Real Estate Research. She has made multiple presentations at national conferences and also won several best paper awards in various occasions. Currently, she also serves as the faculty advisor for UMSL Student Investment Trust.
