Co-Teaching Relationships From a Care Ethics PerspectiveAmerican Educational Research Association (AERA) Annual Meeting (2018)
This study leveraged the implementation of co-teaching as a relational model for the teacher training practicum. When analyzed with the theoretical framework of an ethic of care, teacher-candidates and their mentor-teachers developed caring relationships through facing differential power dynamics in order to engross themselves in each other’s perspectives. This study informs teacher preparation for caring by articulating key processes in cultivating caring teacher relationships.
