Abstract
“Design on the World: Blackness and the Absence of Sub-Saharan Africa from the History of Garden and Landscape Design.”
Of all the major population areas of the globe, only one is excluded from the supposedly global history of landscape design. This chapter investigates some of the reasons for this, particularly those related to basic premises of the landscape architecture profession and the ways the history of landscape design have been conceptualized.
