About Gregory D. Conradi Smith

My research interests focus on mathematical aspects of cell biology and neuroscience. Although my scholarship is mathematical and computational in nature, I am a life scientist—a biologist who is applying mathematical and computational approaches to problems in cellular physiology. Mathematics is important for the life scientist because math is the language of all theoretical science, the biological as well as the physical. My educational activities are designed to encourage students and colleagues to think quantitatively about biological problems.
