Idaho Shakespeare’s September show, “The 39 Steps,” opens this weekend with an all-comic cast: David Anthony Smith, Joe Conley Golden, Kathryn Cherasaro and Richard Klautsch. Put these four actors in a room and you don’t even need a script — it will be funny. Fortunately, they have a good one, Patrick Barlow’s adaptation of Alfred Hitchcock’s 1935 spy thriller handily titled “The 39 Steps.” These four actors play more than 140 characters, under the direction of stellar actor wrangler Gordon Reinhart.
