Abstract
Excel worksheet (XLS file) supplemental data for:
McNamara 2007 Formatex Microscopy 3 pp287-296 - A thousand Protein of Light - 15 years of advances in fluorescent proteins Boswell.pdf
* PFD is preceding URl = https://works.bepress.com/gmcnamara/87
Thousand proteins of light is both the approximate number of fluorescent proteins (FP) enumerated here and a play on President George H.W. Bush's "thousand points of light" supporting volunteerism (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thousand_points_of_light).
This 2007 book chapter may be of some use to you - more likely Tally Lambert's up to date web site, https://www.fpbase.org/ will be of use. I highly recommend the FPBase interactive chart, https://www.fpbase.org/chart/ try Y-axis: Brightness, X-axis: emission wavelength.
I am uploading this September 2020. The brightes FP is currently AausFP1, preprint https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/677344v2
is 5x brighter than EGFP, or 10x if you make tandem dimer version (re: tdTomato format).
