Description
Tiki_Goddess_2020 is July 2020 scan of Tiki_Goddess microscope slide.
filename: Tiki_Goddess_2020 Plustek OptiFilm 8200i Hamrick Vuescan Pro Adobe Photoshop 6 - 7200dpi crop.tif
Plustek OpticFilm 8200i 35mm film scanner.
Film strip holder modified by GM for microscope slide (snipped off crossbar, added double sided tape, positioned slide for two scans, "top" and "bottom).
Hamrick Vuescan Pro, 7200dpi (3.6um pixel size), 4-scan average, 64-bit RGBI (16-bit per channel RGB and near infrared), saved both 64-bit RGBI and 48-bit RGB TIFF. Vuescan Pro very fast prescan, very nice and flexible "RAW" scanning capability.
Adobe Photoshop 6 (we have CS3 etc, 6 worked), opened 48-bit tiff, changed mode to 24-bit, merged the two panels. Cropped to fit.
Uploaded to bepress.
I am a fan of Meyer Instruments Pathscan Enabler V slide scanners. Original Tiki_Goddess was scanned on an original Pathscan Enabler in autumn 2000 (almost 20 years ago from writing July 13, 2020). The Plustek scanner fit our budget better.
