About Glynis Bradfield

Glynis Bradfield leads the Center for Adult Degree CompletionCredit for Prior Learning, and Online Student Services at Andrews University. This includes directing and teaching the Integrative Studies program, coordinating academic advising and marketing School of Distance Education programs and services. Through her leadership of the curriculum and instruction resource center linking Adventist educators (circle.adventistlearningcommunity.com) and development of the blog adventisteducators.org, she encourages documenting and sharing Christian education best practices and faith integration tools.

Glynis started her career as a missionary educator, serving for 14 years in South Africa, Zambia, and D.R. Congo, where she taught primary and secondary students, developed a literacy center, envisioned and completed printing of several books and K-12 Bible curricula in then-Zaire. Her interests in comparative education and meaningful assessment of Christian spiritual growth in Adventist education prompted her doctoral research, 2008-2011, developing and validating the Growing Disciple Inventory, since refined, translated, and expanded to paper and online versions for children, youth, and adults. Current research includes the impact of proactive academic advising on persistence and achievement of non-traditional and at-risk students, the impact of advanced placement credits on student achievement and persistence through university years, faith integration and religious education.
