Harmonizing Systems to Achieve Health Equity: Novel Strategies to Align Medical, Social & Public Health Sectors
American Public Health Association Annual Meeting
(2020)
Abstract
This session examines research on the role of multi-sector community networks in improving health and health equity, using data from the National Longitudinal Survey of Public Health Systems. We use up to 20 years of data on network composition and structure for more than 600 U.S. communities, linked with other data sources on demographics, service use, program spending and health outcomes. Analytic methods from econometrics and network science are combined to understand the causes and consequences of change in network structures over time.
