About Glen Rogers
I recently joined the University of the Pacific as Director of Academic Assessment where I am currently focused on advancing faculty work in carrying out meaningful program and institutional assessment.
I previously worked at Alverno College where I integrated work on program and institutional assessment with the formal study of student learning, development, performance, contributing to the integration of theory and practice, both publishing on assessment of student learning outcomes and on empirically-informed theories of student growth. I have represented Alverno’s research on its ability-based curriculum to national and international audiences, which contributed to recognition of the college for its curriculum and community of educators. I have significant experience in promoting pedagogical and curriculum improvements and in preparing for regional and specialized accreditation, including HLC and CAEP.
During my 6 ½-year tenure as Director of Educational Research and Evaluation, I built partnerships with diverse departments and increased institutional research capacity. I led development of a longitudinal tracking system and statistically modeled student persistence. I worked with Advancement to write grant proposals and provide evaluation services.
During my 7 ½-year tenure as IRB Administrator, I developed the policies, procedures, and web presence for Alverno’s first Institutional Review Board and led its integration with the masters-level programs.
I joined Alverno in 1984, as Research Associate in the Office of Educational Research and Evaluation, was promoted to Senior Research Associate in 1991, and was promoted to Director in 2009, while retaining the concurrent position of IRB Administrator.
