About Gitta Hammarberg, Retired

Hammarberg is an expert in 18th and 19th century Russian literature and recent Slavic literary theory. She has published a book on Russian Sentimentalism, From the Idyll to the Novel: Karamzin's Sentimentalist Prose (Cambridge University Press, 1991) and numerous articles on minor literary genres and gender in late 18th- early 19th-century literature. Her current research is focused on Karamzin's epigones.
